I would particularly recommend it for anyone interested in education

This is one of the most informative and interesting books on teachers unions today. I would particularly recommend it for anyone interested in education, educational policy and politics, teacher unions and/or broader social justice issues. The chapters address the role of unions in historical and contemporary contexts, such as how teacher unions historically fought against gender and class inequality and how they continue to advocate for the future of public education and workers’ rights in today’s neoliberal push for privatization. Other chapters address how unions can support and engage teachers in their professional lives and develop stronger partnerships to advocate for public education.
